What is a Service Upgrade?
A service upgrade involves completely replacing the "heart" of your home's electrical system. This means ripping out the old, undersized breaker panel (or ancient fuse box), upgrading the main power cable coming from the utility street drop, installing a new digital meter socket, and driving new copper grounding rods into the earth. It fundamentally increases the total volume (Amperage) of electricity your home is capable of safely utilizing.

If your home was built before 1980, it likely has a 60-amp or 100-amp service panel. Back then, homes only needed to power a few lightbulbs, a TV, and a refrigerator. Today, we have central air conditioning, dual electric ovens, hot tubs, and Level 2 Electric Vehicle chargers. If you try to run these modern appliances on an old 100-amp panel, you will constantly trip the main breaker, overheat the wires, and risk starting a catastrophic electrical fire behind your walls.

Which Panel Capacity Do You Need?

We install dual 8-foot copper ground rods and bond your water/gas mains to ensure the new system is perfectly grounded.

How long will my power be off during an upgrade?
Typically, your power will be out for 6 to 8 hours during the day while we perform the swap.
Do I need 200 amps or 400 amps?
For most homes, 200 amps is plenty for an EV charger, central air, and an electric stove. We recommend 400 amps only for massive luxury homes or heavy electric heating.
